Good afternoon!

This time last year, as parishes prepared for the Lenten season, the dangers of COVID-19 were steadily coming into focus. It was a time of uncertainty, yet Lent offered us hope – a time to give thanks to God for His love, comfort and mercy amid the challenges the world brings to us. This year Lent gives us a renewed sense of hope, knowing that as uncertainty continues so does God’s sacrificial love for us. Faith Direct is honored to be part of your ministries at this special time. As always, we are here for your parish with constant support and encouragement!

This month, we’re sharing detailed information about how to update donor envelope numbers, as well as an overview of February disbursements and a schedule of Faith Direct webinars for this month and next.

May God bless you and your loved ones this Lenten season and throughout the year.

Encourage eGiving with Your Lenten Message During Lent, Christians are called to renew spiritual practices like fasting, praying and almsgiving. As almsgiving promotes gratitude for all that God has given by giving some away, Lent is a time for parishioners to think about how they give.

Faith Direct is here to help, providing all the tools and resources you need to spread the word in your Lenten message this year.

Be on the lookout for an email from us with all these resources so you can encourage parishioners to help the church by giving up envelopes, and embracing eGiving for their generous offertory and parish.
Updating Donor Envelope Numbers You have the ability to update your parishioner envelope numbers!  At the start of the new year it’s always very important to make sure that your parishioners have the correct church assigned ID (Envelope number), especially if you utilize Faith Direct exports.  There are many ways you can see what the current numbers are; the best one would be to run a Donor Report to see which donors have a blank space in the Church ID column or just to double check your recurring donors to make sure that they have the correct assigned ID.

If you notice a donor with no church assign ID or the incorrect number, you can update those records as long as you have Master or Donor access.  If you are unsure what access you have, please contact your Client Success Manager.

On your Faith Direct Home Page, click on the small Magnifying Glass icon on the top left corner of the page. This is the donor lookup. We call it the Google of Faith Direct.

 donor lookup

You will then be taken to this advanced search screen where you can search for the donor by their First/Last Name, Email, Account ID, etc.  Then click on the 'Submit Search Query' button.  If you are utilizing the Donor Report, you can also search with their Account ID (Faith Direct ID) and it will take you directly to their account.

 advanced search

It will take you to the search results page. Click on the FDID or Last Name of the donor.

 search results

It will now take you to the donor's profile. You can add/update their envelope number on the 'Church ID' field. You can also select "Yes" in the 'ID Locked' drop-down menu. This will gray out the Church ID field for the donor so they will not be able to change it themselves. When you are done updating the envelope number hit the 'Save' button.

Similarly, repeat the process for the rest of all your donors! You will then be configured for imports.  If they are single time donors and you don’t want that information uploaded when the disbursement export is ready, you can put an OT (One time) or NR (Not Registered) in the Church ID field and then when you export the disbursement information you can delete those lines from the spreadsheet.

February Bulletin & Facebook Announcements

Communicating with parishioners is important. Faith Direct recommends that every parish promote the program in its weekly bulletin and on its website and social media pages.

Below are some samples for February that we recommend you post to your parish bulletin and to your Facebook page.
  Bulletin Announcement:

This time last year the full scope and inherent dangers of COVID-19 were becoming clear. Our world was brought to a standstill, but our parish ministries continued because so many people needed our help. Recurring gifts helped sustain our parish in unprecedented times and continue to be a vital source of support for ministries that are a lifeline to those in need in our community.

To continue to make a difference in 2021, St. John Demo Church is reaching out to our parishioners. The more people use eGiving, the stronger foundation we will have for ministries that bring hope in times of uncertainty.

We prayerfully request that you consider signing up for eGiving from your computer, smartphone, or tablet. You can set up a recurring donation or make a one-time gift.

Sign up today by visiting faith.direct/FD2, or text ‘Enroll’ to (Text-to-Give Number).

Thank you for your continued support of our parish family.

God Bless You,
(Pastor's Name Here)
