Does a parishioner need to be signed up with Faith Direct in order to use Text-to-Give?
A parishioner does not need a Faith Direct account to set up a gift! If a parishioner does not have an existing account, an account will be created for them after they make their first gift. If a parishioner is already using Faith Direct for their offertory giving, they can enter the email address associated with their account to register their mobile phone number to that account. A parishioner can also sign into their account online and opt into text giving from their account homepage.
If someone creates an account via Text-to-Give, can they use that account for offertory giving?
Parishioners can set up online access to their text giving accounts and then log in from their computer, mobile device, or the Faith Direct app to set up recurring offertory gifts. Our support team is available at info@faithdirect.net or 866-507-8757 to assist with account access.
How are parishioners billed for text gifts?
When a parishioner completes the one-time registration, they enter the credit card information for whichever card will process all of their text gifts. If someone already has a Faith Direct offertory giving account, they can log in online and choose which credit card to use for text giving.
Will parishioners receive tax statements?
Parishioners will receive email and text receipts for all gifts made via Text-to-Give. If you have requested that Faith Direct not send tax statements to your parishioners--or if the collection is not tax-deductible--text givers will not receive tax letters.
What collections are available for text giving?
Parish staff decides which collections will accept text gifts and can use the Church Administrator website to control which appeals are available and when. Text-to-Give can support multiple collections, but we recommend limiting it to five collections to keep giving quick and easy.
When will Text-to-Give be available?
Text-to-Give is available now! To add it to your Faith Direct program, email us at clientcare@faithdirect.net and our Client Care Team will set you up with a number.
How much is Text-to-Give? Are we locked into a contract?
The cost to the parish is FREE, and it covers the cost of maintaining the phone number and all messaging and data rates. If you no longer wish to accept gifts via text, let us know and we will release the phone number.
What about credit card fees?
Credit card fees are the same for all transactions processed by Faith Direct, whether the gifts are processed via text or online.
Is there a report of Text-to-Give gifts and payments?
Gifts made via Text-to-Give appear on your regular Disbursement Reports and on the files you download from Faith Direct to import into your record-keeping software. The Live Transactions report--which already exists on the Church Administrator website--will be updated so you can run it just for text gifts.
How is the phone number set up?
Faith Direct will configure and maintain a phone number for the parish. Faith Direct will also handle the text messages and phone calls to that number from your parishioners.
